The Olympic Peninsula and waterfalls are two of my favorite things and the challenge of creating a great interactive and informative experience for the visitor bureau was an excellent opportunity. The site is full of information and serves as a community hub for conversation and information about the area. To make the site easy and fun to navigate I used JavaScript and CSS to have a fun and beautiful interface for the site.
This is another site built on the Blueprint CSS framework and then ported over to WordPress. All of the site was built in Photoshop as a collaborative effort between me and the client. The site has minimal content but the client wanted a rich graphical experience.
My first serious work in website design came about eight years ago when I was starting my photography business. Thanks to the Internet Archives I was able to piece together a stroll down memory lane to show a few of the incarnations of the site over the years.
This was a really fun and interesting project. Client was the University of Washington Center for Conservation Biology. Site needed a simple user interface to allow one to access any of content from any page of the site.
This is an organization committed to furthering the research and developoment of an effective vaccine to battle aids. I collaborated on the design layout and sliced up the PSD to layer it into a CSS layout and then integrated with WordPress to work as a content management system.
Site developed for a small pet food supply store and bird rescue organization. Built on WordPress CMS for easy updates by the client.
Design for the fashion creations of Jiminie. Created as very minimalist with layerd textured PNGs to give the look and “feel” of fabric. Site involved creating multiple themes for WordPress for the main structure and Pixelpost for the photo gallery creating a nice back end for the client.
Site built for a research project studying the Nothern Spotted Owl being conducted out of the University of Washington. I spent most of my time in the woods as a crew leader and field biologist but when I was near power I developed a website to give an overview of the project and allow all of the interns to easily post updates and photos in the blogs.
This is a small collection of some of my early experiments of using Flash and learning to program with ActionScript. These may not be the most practical use of the application but I had fun making them and hopefully they are fun for you to play with.
